The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) Foundation in collaboration with Serco are delighted to offer a scholarship to support a rural or remote mental health nurse studying postgraduate study.

The scholarship is valued $2,500 towards the cost of postgraduate study, this contribution includes but is not limited to the following:

Course fees
Text books
Other study related costs.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to members and non-members who meet the following criteria:

have current registration as an enrolled or registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
work in an Australian rural area described by the Modified Monash Model as a registered nurse whom also resides within the MM3 to MM7 categories
work in the mental health sector.
currently enrolled in a postgraduate course, such as a graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters.

How can I apply?

To apply you will need:

proof of identity (drivers license or birth certificate)
evidence of residential address, such as a utilities bill or rates notice.
a current resume (detailing experience);
copy of current nurse registration.
Confirmation of your employment in the mental health sector and position.
Confirmation of current enrolment in a postgraduate course.

The scholarship will be awarded to the student who can best demonstrate their suitability in their response to the selection questions outlined in the application.

Applicants are asked to complete and submit this form along with the above required documents, which can be uploaded at the end of this form.

Terms and Conditions

Applications must be received on this form and address all questions and selection criteria.
ACN and Serco reserves the right to not make an offer of an award in 2022.
The ACN Grants and Awards Committee will undertake assessment of all applications and their decision will be final.
Applications are competitive and ACN reserves the right to withdraw the award should conditions not be satisfied.
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Successful applicants will be required to provide a brief bio and pic of them selves.
Successful applicants are required to submit a brief report to ACN within three months of completion of the study.
ACN is to be acknowledged in any publication or presentation resulting from funding support.
ACN reserves the right to publish information about the scholarship and successful applicants in their medium of choice.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION

ACN will release de-identified information including your state/territory, course, employer to the ACN Grants and Awards Committee and to the sponsor, Serco. ACN may also use de-identified information for the purposes of promoting and publicising the scholarships. Personal Information may be disclosed to Serco or a subsequent Administrator for the purposes of administering the scholarships such as
